VRYHEID KZN: EMS members go on a 12KM fun-walk

“I would like to thank the employees for coming up with this great initiative. The event went well; nothing was out of the ordinary. I thank them once again for working together peacefully until the race was done,”

Members of EMS (Emergency Medical Services) had their ‘fun walk’ on Saturday from the Paddadam to Afriment (Paulpietersburg Road) and back to the Paddadam. Close family and friends of the people who work at EMS also came to take part in the 12km walk. This walk was organised to give encouragement to the workers, boost their energy, and boost their morale outside the working environment. Many of them were affected by Covid-19; some losing their lives. EMS employee Nhlanhla Sithole said, “Personally, I was very happy about how everything went. I was happy to see people outside of the formal working environment. I learned new things about them and it was very exciting. A big thank you to everyone who made this special day successful.” Zwane, who was one of the fun-walk organisers, mentioned with confidence that while they were planning the event, they did not encounter any challenges. “I was very happy to see the event unfolding and being a success, as everyone who was present was happy as well. For me, I would like to repeat it once again.” Zwane said it was arranged that it would be 12km for both females and males, and every member finished their race without any complications. “I would like to thank the employees for coming up with this great initiative. The event went well; nothing was out of the ordinary. I thank them once again for working together peacefully until the race was done,” said Base Manager TB Mbatha. The team members would like to thank Engen Garage for their water donation and they also send a big thanks to the people at the Paddadam for allowing them to use their park, free of charge.
