DUNDEE KZN: Teacher turns to poetry to guide kids

Ms Moloi, a teacher for the past 29 years, said she was inspired to produce the book through her love and passion for children.

Primary school teacher Mbokiseng Caroline Moloi has surprised her colleagues at Luvisi Primary School in Nquthu by publishing a book of poetry aimed at guiding children. Ms Moloi, a teacher for the past 29 years, said she was inspired to produce the book through her love and passion for children.

“The book is called ‘Zikhasela Eziko’ (Children Crawl towards the Fire) due to a lack of guidance from elders. We need to teach our children correctly by putting them on the correct path,” Ms Moloi said. The poems are aimed at children in the Foundation Phase.

Colleague Thandekile Sibiya said she and the rest of the teaching staff at Luvisi are ‘incredibly proud of Ms Moloi’, and described her as a relentless inspiration.
