VRYHEID KZN: Bikers ‘cruise’ along and ‘blanket’ the road for a good cause

Cruisers MCC would like to thank all the sponsors and the bikers who attended the event

Cruisers MCC Vryheid had a very successful Blanket Run on Saturday, when motorbikes from as far as Piet Retief and Glencoe (either in the capacity of their clubs or as individuals) joined in the fun. The day was enjoyed by clubs such as Cruisers MCC, No Rules MCC Vryheid en Piet Retief, Cane Riders, Chapter 13 MC, Live Free Ride Free, Family Crew MC, Lock Riders, Mac’s MCC, Crusaders MC and Sons of Joburg. The riders had the opportunity to compete in the ‘Ride the Clock’ competition, where riders had to complete a route in a specific time. Adriaan Terblanche won the competition, followed by Mariette Terblanche in second place. Both these riders are from Family Crew MC. Quinton van Tonder was the winner of the lucky draw. A total of 46 riders joined the charity event, while local businesses opened their hearts and purses to support this charitable cause. John Kitching was the MC of the day, entertaining the bikers and guests with his witty humour. A total of 72 blankets and a huge amount of money, as well as non-perishable food donations, were collected. This will be donated to Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch, who will distribute the blankets to over 50 needy families in Vryheid. Cruisers MCC would like to thank all the sponsors and the bikers who attended the event, as well as those who contributed to the success of the Blanket Run.
