NEWCASTLE KZN: Volkies dominate at netball referee workshop

The school is proud of progress in netball after local workshop.

Volksrust High School is proud of its netball referees who attended a netball referee workshop in Newcastle recently.

School marketer, Marietjie Steyn said two of the school’s outside coaches, Gugu Thwala and Yolanda Skhosana, received their level 1, of which Yolanda also received her level D rating.

Two learners also attended the workshop.

“Sithandiwe Manana in Grade 10 received her level 1 and D rating, as well as an award for the Most Promising Umpire.”

Amber Louis, a Grade 12 student from the school, also received her level 2 and C rating.

Amber therefore qualifies to umpire league games.

“We are very proud of all our ladies and learners who are progressing so well,” concluded Steyn.
