NEWCASTLE KZN: Volkies hosts fundraiser for its ‘Adopt a Kid’ programme

Every student put in a lot of effort to raise money by selling bunny chows and washing cars.

On April 10, Volksrust High School’s Grade 8E3 class organised a fundraiser for the school’s underprivileged students.

According to the school’s Marketing Manager, Marietjie Steyn, every student put in a lot of effort to raise money by selling bunny chows and washing cars.

“It’s a joy to work with students who are excited and committed to their studies,” said Steyn.

“Thank you to the Tienerhof hostel workers for preparing the meal, Miss Rossouw for her assistance during the day, and Mrs Joubert, the Grade guardian, for her unwavering support. Thank you to all who helped make this possible. We make a living by having, but we make a life by giving,” she concluded, quoting Winston Churchill.
