NEWCASTLE KZN: Women’s delegation returns from humanitarian mission

Sumayya Omar and Fathima Seedat joined other Muslim women on the trip.

A group of local women, representing the Africa Muslims Agency, returned this week from a two-week journey to Afghanistan and Lebanon.

During this visit, Sumayya Omar, Fathima Seedat and others visited refugee camps and met with victims of war and those suffering in the depths of poverty. Part of their journey was helping restore dignity, hope and nourishment for these people.

On Monday afternoon (April 12), the women hosted an event at St Dominics Newcastle, where they relayed the harrowing details of their trip and encouraged others in attendance to help eradicate poverty and lend a hand to those in dire need.
