Truck driver Nsofwa Hilary got the fright of his life when he saw smoke coming out of the truck he was driving. He said that, in the blink of an eye, the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

He and a passenger wasted no time in escaping to safety. Nsofwa said he tried to douse the blaze with a fire extinguisher he had in his possession, but the inferno was already beyond his control.

According to Nsofwa, passing motorists alerted the Fire Department and RTI, who responded to the scene.

“God is great, as I’m lucky to be alive,” said Nsofwa.

Later last night, towing services were busy preparing for the blackened vehicle to be towed away.
