VRYHEID KZN: 2 arrested for transporting dagga weighing over 350kg

The officers received information detailing the description of a vehicle that was said to be transporting dagga towards Durban.

An intelligence-driven sting operation resulted in two suspects being arrested on Tuesday (April 6) for possession of dagga.
The operation was conducted by the Zululand Cluster Task Team, Vryheid Trio Team, Vryheid CI, Pro5 Security and Afriforum on the P34 Vryheid and Dumbe road (near the Natal Spar road).
The officers received information detailing the description of a vehicle that was said to be transporting dagga towards Durban. The vehicle was spotted near Mahloni, travelling at an excessively high speed. A chase ensued and the suspects were eventually pulled over.
Upon inspection, it was found that the vehicle was loaded with 14 bags of dagga weighing about 360kg.
Two suspects aged 25 and 27 were promptly arrested.
The drugs were seized and the vehicle was impounded.
