Ladysmith KZN: Water supply to be affected by planned shutdown

1 bank of filters will still be operational

uThukela District Municipality would like to inform the community that Umgeni Water is planning to shut down the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works (WTW) tomorrow (Tuesday, March 30) to clean the backwash recovery sump and commission the new pump sets.

In addition, filter no. 3 will be reconnected to the system and will await commissioning.

The shutdown is anticipated to take 12 hours, from 6am to 6pm.

It will be a partial shutdown, with one bank of filters still operational.

This will result in reduced flow to areas supplied by the plant, namely Ezakheni and Acaciavale.

The district municipality apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused.
