NEWCASTLE KZN: Municipality clears two ‘illegal dumping’ sites

The Newcastle Municipality has urged residents to refrain from 'partaking in illegal dumping'.

The Newcastle Municipality is making ‘commendable strides’ in its efforts to clean up the town.

According to Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications for the municipality, a team of Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers, and members from the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries worked in conjunction with the Green Good Deeds Beneficiaries to ‘ensure every corner of Newcastle is kept clean’.

“With refuse bags in hand, the team cleared two illegal dumping sites in Ward 19, Madadeni,” confirmed Khumalo.
