DUNDEE KZN: Mr Happiness creates an online sensation

The song has already attracted over 200 000 views since it was uploaded on Tuesday

He promised it and now he has done it.  Dundee’s own motivational champion, Mr Happiness, a.k.a. Eugene Mahlaba, has recorded and uploaded his first ‘single’ on iTunes,  Ithuba.

It is a song of spoken word  with a collaboration from local deejay, DJ Kwezi.  “It is hip hop but the message is one of realising one’s mistakes, asking for forgiveness and moving forward with intelligence and caring. We need to care for each other – God taught us this through the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

The 40-year-old life coach, who also works at Umzinyathi Municipality, said he wrote the songs in about 2006 but was spiritually inspired now to go and ‘get it to the public’.

“We must strive for honesty, kindness – Ithuba is asking for another chance to correct the mistakes. I also want those in prison to be motivated to change and to acknowledge their wrong doing and be prepared to make amends when they are again free.”

The song has already attracted over 200 000 views since it was uploaded on Tuesday – not bad for a man from Dundee!
