NEWCASTLE KZN: Burst pipes cause water interruptions in Osizweni
Water supply is expected to be restored by 1pm today.
Osizweni residents currently experiencing water supply interruptions are being advised this is due to a burst pipe in Nondlela.
According to Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications for the Newcastle Municipality, this is the main supply of water to the eastern part of Osizweni.
The following areas will be affected:
- Longhomes
- Section D
- Section E
- Section F
- Invenees
“Residents in parts of Section A, B and C in Osizweni are also advised of water supply interruptions caused by a burst pipe near the Osizweni SASSA offices,” commented Khumalo.
The Newcastle Municipality’s Technical Services team is currently busy on sites, repairing the burst pipes.
“We estimate that water supply should be restored by around 1pm today. We urge residents to report water shortages, burst pipes and water leaks to the Call Centre on 0860 144 144. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused,” concluded Khumalo.
