VRYHEID KZN: Local artist needs your votes to catapult her to stardom

Zinhle has now been nominated twice in the category of 'Best Upcoming Artist' at the Amaciko and Mlwazet Bavundulule Awards (MBF), which will be held in Durban.

Kwaito singer and local actress Zinhle Sithole, known in the entertainment industry as ‘Zee-jobelicious’, is a 41-year-old woman who lives in eBhekuzulu, Emadosheni new stand. She needs your votes to get her career off the ground. But let’s start at the beginning…

Zinhle says she was born in kwaNongoma, but moved to Vryheid in 1999 with her family. She started singing at a very young age, but due to the fact that she lived in a rural area, she had no platform to showcase her talent. “I was discovered by a guy named Demappo from TMP Records in Newcastle. I used to listen to his music a lot and I would send him recordings of me singing his sings. In 2019, he invited me over to his studio and we recorded our first song, which was entitled ‘Thula Mama’. It was not really a success, but the people who knew us loved it.”

She has performed in various places in Vryheid, Newcastle and Volkrust. “However, as an upcoming artist, it is not easy, since you are told to perform free of charge as part of promoting yourself. When you are called to perform in a certain place, you have to use your own money to get yourself there. I have worked for DJ Matoto, DJ M-max, DJ PercyBoi and Queen Diva 034, and I have also acted in four local movies, namely ‘Qinisela’, ‘Iphupho: The Dream’, ‘Toffy’ and ‘Ikusasa Alaziwa’,” she explains.

Zinhle has now been nominated twice in the category of ‘Best Upcoming Artist’ at the Amaciko and Mlwazet Bavundulule Awards (MBF), which will be held in Durban. So she is appealing to the community of Vryheid to vote for her by SMS’ing “best upcoming artist Zee-jobelicious” to 45633. For the second nomination, they should SMS “MFB Zee-jobelicious kwaito” to 45633. Each SMS costs R1.50 and people can vote as often as they like. The closing date for voting is March 30, 2021. She says this will change her life for the better and she will be able to finish her album. She is also looking for someone to fund and / or sign her, since she does not have a recording label, and can cast her in any local movie, even if it’s behind the scenes. Zinhle can be contacted on 079-719-7688 and her Facebook page is Zee-jobelicious Ingane kaGovu.
