Ladysmith KZN: Meet the new Uthukela District Women’s Network committee members

The services provided play a crucial role in preventing crime in society

The Uthukela District Women’s Network is a forum that consists of female police officers who represent all 16 Uthukela District Stations and nine SAPS Specialised Units.

This forum was formed in 2003, with the aim of addressing challenges that women and children face on a daily basis. The services provided play a crucial role in preventing crime in society. In addition, the network is involved in uplifting the lives of the people in the various Uthukela communities and trying to eradicate social problems.

This forum is not independent, but is affiliated to the Provincial Women’s Network, whose offices are based in Durban. The provincial office, in turn, works in line with the national office based in Gauteng.

The Uthukela District Women’s Network Forum recently held a meeting at Ladysmith SAPS, where a new committee was elected.
