DUNDEE KZN: Racing prodigy Nikheil has a need for speed

During his first season, earned two podium places and topped speeds of 39 seconds per lap on his way to third place overall in the region

Nikheil Kulkaparsad may be only 15-years-old but he’s already a racing prodigy.

The Sarel Cilliers High School student recently finished third in the KZN Regional Championship for Junior Max in the South African Rotax Max Challenge, an international karting series with national, regional and international races. During his first season, earned two podium places and topped speeds of 39 seconds per lap on his way to third place overall in the region.

WATCH:

His meteoric rise hasn’t gone unnoticed and Nikheil is known as Dundee’s Travelling Star among the members of the KZN Karting Club. The name stems from Nikheil’s commitment to making weekly trips to Camperdown for intense training at Idube Raceway.

In only his first season, Nikheil finished third in the region.
