Ladysmith KZN: Tragic death of police officer after Francis Road crash
The officer is believed to have died at the scene
Two vehicles were involved in a crash last night (February 24) outside Juana Maria Old Age Home in Francis Road.
One of the drivers was a police officer.
Shortly after the incident, a shot was fired from a police service pistol.
The officer is believed to have died at the scene. No foul play is suspected.
Ladysmith SAPS, mortuary and EMS responded to the scene.
More details are expected to be released later in the day from the Provincial Police Communications Unit.
