Ladysmith KZN: Steadville Secondary School learner achieves straight A’s

Her only problem is that she does not have any university scholarships and is pleading for help

Nkosisithandile Lesedi Sishange (17) says she dreams of becoming a doctor so that she can lend a helping hand to the community of Ladysmith.

This former student at Steadville Secondary School achieved straight A’s in her final matric exams last year.

She says that she put her heart and soul into her studies, so she was expecting to reap the rewards and obtain good results.

“I have faith in God that He gives us strength to realise all our dreams, as He is the centre of it all. Thus I never saw Covid-19 as a stumbling block in the way of success; rather it made me push harder and focus more on my studies,” explains Nkosisithandile.

The 2020 Steadville Secondary School matriculant aced all seven of her subjects. Her results were as follows: IsiZulu – 91%, English – 89%, Mathematics – 94%, Life Orientations – 90%, Geography – 93%, Life Sciences – 85%, and Physical Sciences – 96%. Incredible marks!

This young intellectual says she wants to pursue a career in Medicine and study towards an MBBCh degree (Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery). Her only problem is that, as of now, she does not have any scholarships and is pleading for help.

Steadville Secondary School principal Mr Nkabinde is over-the-moon about this young lady’s results. He said he is grateful to Nkosisithandile for putting the school’s name on the map and described her as a girl who is passionate about her studies, with a very bright future ahead of her.
