Ladysmith KZN: Man shot dead by robbers allegedly posing as cops

A firearm belonging to the deceased appears to have been stolen

A 27-year-old man was brutally gunned down in Ezakheni E-Section on Saturday (February 13). This after three suspects allegedly posed as police officers, robbing and shooting the 27-year-old in cold blood.

According to police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi, the mother of the 27-year-old informed them that she saw three unknown suspects who appeared to be police officials.

“The victim was found lying on his bed with a gunshot wound to the head. The suspects took a TV set, radio and speakers that belonged to the deceased, and then fled the crime scene.”

Captain Nyathi further added that a firearm and cell-phone belonging to the deceased were also missing from the crime scene.
