Ladysmith KZN: Body of drowning victim found in Peacetown

W/O Meyer found the man's body a few kilometres downstream

The body of the young man who drowned on Thursday (February 11) afternoon in Peacetown has been found.

Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer from the Ladysmith K9 Search & Rescue Unit was in the area over the weekend, continuing with the search.

On Sunday afternoon (February 14), W/O Meyer located the body a few kilometres downstream from where the drowning took place in the river.

The man was herding cattle across the river when he was swept away by the strong currents.

It is believed he was with a few other boys who told him not to go into the water, but he ignored their advice…
