An 18-year-old has appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court after a foetus was found in Colita on February 10.
Police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi explained that police were called to the scene at about 9am after community members made the discovery.
“A case was opened and police arrested an 18 year old female, it is suspected that she is responsible for the concealment of birth,” said Captain Nyathi.
Investigations are continuing.
