VRYHEID KZN: In remembrance of Linda-Anne Alston

Linda-Anne battled with serious health issues for many years

It is with great sorrow that we say farewell to Linda-Anne Alston, youngest daughter of the late Dr Cedric Alston and Rose Alston. Linda-Anne was head girl and Dux of New Republic School (NRS) and head girl of Vryheid High School in 1984. She excelled at swimming. She studied at Stellenbosch and Pretoria universities, where she obtained, among others, her Masters degree. She was a lecturer at Pretoria University and an online lecturer at the Open University. Linda-Anne was an academic, first and foremost, but had a very wide interest in many other things. She was passionate about plants and gardening. She was a member of the Botanical Gardens in Pretoria and was awarded lifelong membership for all her contributions. She also studied Garden Design and started her own business, called Genesis, designing gardens. Furthermore, she was excellent at flower arrangements, embroidery, mosaic work and writing. Genealogy was another interest of hers. Linda-Anne battled with serious health issues for many years. She will be sorely missed by her family, colleagues and a very wide circle of friends. Rest in Peace, Linda-Anne.
