NEWCASTLE KZN: Three-vehicle collision on N11 leaves one injured
The driver of the delivery van was injured.
A collision involving two trailer trucks and a delivery vehicle occurred on the N11 earlier this morning, a few kilometres from the Bismark turn-off (approximately 30km outside of Newcastle).
According to paramedics on the scene, the only reported injury was the driver of the delivery vehicle. He opted to transport himself to hospital. The other two drivers were not hurt but are likely in shock.
The delivery vehicle is said to have been transporting medical supplies including sanitiser dispensers and medication.
Road Traffic Inspectorate officials are currently routing traffic using the N11 – this portion of the road is reduced to one lane each way and debris is still scattered across the road surface. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes where possible, and to travel with caution.
