DUNDEE KZN: Murder case set for pre-trial

The case has been dragging on since September

Jimmy Mulhatton appeared briefly in the Dundee Regional Court on Monday morning for the murder of Ronnie Carlitz. The murder was committed in September last year.

Ronnie was stabbed multiple times at his home in Beaconsfield Street, and the home was gutted in a fire.

Asked if he wanted to apply for legal aid by Magistrate Ferreira, Mulhatton (30) at first said he would defend himself, but changed his mind when the magistrate enquired if he had a Law degree. T

he case has been remanded to February 23 for pre-trial and the accused has applied for legal aid. Mulhatton has been incarcerated at the Ladysmith prison since his arrest on the day of the murder.
