NEWCASTLE KZN: YouTube premiere for local musician
The YouTube video for Walk in the Garden premiered in December last year.
The Newcastle Advertiser recently interviewed local musician, luthier and a worker in full-time Christian ministry, John Hopkins (Kingdoms and Kastles).
John released a single titled Walk in the Garden late last year, with the official music video premiering on YouTube in December. John revealed he is working on another single, but has no deadline for its release quite yet.

While he loves working with other artists, John described it as difficult to have the right contacts and put all the arrangements in place, as music is more of a side project. He admits it is also difficult to find musicians in the same frame of mind.
“I’m not doing this for profit or to become famous, but I am doing it as well and as consistently as I can. Usually, the guys I connect with are pursuing success much more fervently than I am and get frustrated with my slow pace of production, or feel the end result needs to ‘sound better’, or the exact opposite is true and they can’t keep to deadlines as I would prefer and aren’t willing to put time into making the track as good as it can be.”
For this reason, John finds himself in a position where he has little in terms of success to offer other artists, but believes his releases are of a decent quality and of benefit to any artist he is involved with.
