Ladysmith KZN: Going for a drive in our ‘galley’
If only 90% of this town's problems could be linked to a simple spelling mistake!
Ruby Gailey Drive has been renamed… It appears to now be Ruby Galley Drive! As far as the original, first and only true version is concerned, the street was named after one of the town’s first female leaders, Councillor Ruby Gailey. The second version is named after what one can only assume is a ruby-red roman galley?
Obviously a mistake on the part of the street name makers… and not a new mistake either, having been misspelled for quite some time now.
An eagle-eyed resident spotted the mistake and within minutes, it was doing the rounds on almost every single Alfred Duma Municipality social media post on WhatsApp.
If only 90% of this town’s problems could be linked to a simple spelling mistake!
