Lockdown restrictions ‘could be causing poor eyesight for millions’

Could lockdown restrictions be affecting your eyesight negatively? Watch the video below for more:

A new study conducted by researchers from the charity Fight For Sight have deduced that the number of hours people spend in front of computers and on smartphones is worsening their eyesight. During lockdown, more people have found entertainment and solace in online communities and many are also finding themselves working from home, which increases screentime drastically. Added to that, the hours spent indoors is also adding to the increase of eye problems.

The study was conducted in Britain and despite it being the result of lockdown restrictions in a different country, one can’t help but wonder how the eyesight of the general South African population will be affected by lockdown restrictions too.
