The state of our roads in Ladysmith is intertwined with the duties of our two municipalities, Alfred Duma and uThukela.

The one municipality digs the hole and the other fills it in, so what could go wrong?

Residents in White Road waited three weeks for uThukela to fix a burst pipe under the road.

They have now waited a further two weeks in the hope that Alfred Duma staff will fix the mess uThukela made.

The result is an accident waiting to happen, with a taxi and a bakkie having already driven into the hole. Only a pile of bricks warns you that the hole is in the middle of the road.
