Ladysmith KZN: Fond farewell for Aloe Park educator

He steered the ship with dignity, respect and humility while discharging his duties

Aloe Park Primary School staff hosted a farewell function to recognise the excellent service rendered by outgoing Deputy Principal Mr RR Lakhan.

Mr Lakhan, who is now retiring, served in the Department of Education and at Aloe Park for five years since 2014.

He steered the ship with dignity, respect and humility while discharging his duties.

The staff will remember his jovial character and for treating fellow educators, School Governing Body members, parents and learners on an equal footing.

Mr Lakhan’s retirement was unexpected, since his plan was to carry on working until 65 years of age. He has left a vacuum at the school and big shoes that will not be easy to fill.

Principal of the institution, Mrs N Mlotshwa, said she appreciated the time presented by God to be able to work with a person of such high calibre and professionalism.

“You did everything you could to help the learners shine. Despite the challenges, thank you for your endless patience, motivation and persistence. Bon voyage, soldier. We salute you!”
