ESTCOURT KZN: Wembezi police station closed after positive Covid-19 case

The Wembezi Community Service Centre (police station) will be temporarily closed after a member tested positive for the coronavirus.

This was confirmed by police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi who added that the member tested positive today (January 6).

The station will be temporarily closed from today.

“The building will be decontaminated in due course, thereafter services will resume normally at the station,” said Captain Nyathi.

The station will now operate a few meters away in an extension on the same premises.

“To access the station, the community can call the landline number 036-353-0100 or alternatively call 10111 for reporting all complainants or emergencies, which will be attended to accordingly. The telephone lines at the temporary Community Service Centre will be working as normal. The Detective Commander Captain van Greunen can also be contacted on his cell – 082-462-9136. The Wembezi Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Dreyer may be contacted on 082-418-9777,” stated Captain Nyathi.
