A 36-year-old has been arrested and charged for murder.

“The investigation is on-going to get more information, including the whereabouts of the missing parts of the deceased,” said police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.

He explained that before the murder, the child was asleep with his grandmother on the evening of November 26 when the child’s father removed him from the room.

Just after midnight, the grandmother went to check on the child and found him sound asleep next to his father.
The following morning at about 4.30am, when she checked up on the pair, she found that they were missing.

She left for work and when she returned at 11.30am, she found her son but there was no sign of the young grandson.

“Her son was at home and he became very violent and arrogant when he was approached and asked about his child. The family started searching for the missing child,” explained Captain Nyathi.

Hours later, the tragic discovery was made and police were called in.
