A late-night fire at Zacks International (at the corner of Harding and Allen Streets) was reported to the Newcastle Municipality’s Community Safety unit at exactly 11.59pm last night (November 16).
This was confirmed by Head of Communications for Newcastle Municipality, Mlungisi Khumalo.
“It took the Fire Department exactly one minute to arrive at the scene. Upon initial assessment, a massive fire with 100% smoke damage was discovered,” explained Khumalo.
Firefighters worked hard and acted swiftly to contain the flames.
