ESTCOURT: Treverton learners explore the magic of Mtentu

Each learner faces their own challenges

Every year, the Grade 6 learners at Treverton experience the magic of Mtentu.

It was rather ‘touch and go’ as to whether this would happen this year, but the school managed to just squeeze it in before a busy exam term.

The five-day excursion consists of a 26km beach walk, river canoeing, rock jumps, orienteering, a point observation walk (hike) and camping.

Each learner faces their own challenges, but within a safe and caring team who work by encouragement not force to get each and every pupil to recognise the courage within, while still remaining true to themselves.

Time to learn and have some fun in the process.

No one comes back without a huge sense of achievement!
