ESTCOURT: Commemorating Kartik by serving the community
The freshly-prepared hot meal was gratefully received by the residents
To mark the auspicious month of Kartik, the Food for Life Estcourt team served the community.
Despite the rain on Saturday, the members pitched up and prepared a meal that would feed 400 people.

Thanks to the generosity of Deven Dukhi and family, a nutritious vegetarian meal was delivered to residents in Forderville and Nhlalakahle.
250 meals were distributed by Food for Life Estcourt partner Edith Lite in Nhlalakahle.
The freshly-prepared hot meal was gratefully received by the residents.
In Forderville, 150 pre-packed meals were distributed and appreciatively accepted by the locals.
“This brings our total for this month to a record 800 meals in one month, exceeding our May total of 600. My goal is to one day distribute 1000 meals in one month. Even the rain didn’t stop us from reaching this milestone. At one stage, we were only distributing 200 meals,” said Food for Life Estcourt volunteer Lokeshwar Das.
