Ladysmith KZN: Major improvements in water supply due to good rains

People are urged to continue saving water and using this precious resource sparingly

uThukela District Municipality say they have seen major improvements in the flow of the Klip River over the past week due to the good rains experienced.

At this stage, the Klip River is flowing and the water system is running as normal. The district municipality are extracting their 60% water capacity from Spioenkop and the other 40% from the river, which means there is full pressure in the system.

All areas that were affected by water-shedding should be receiving water at this stage. If you are battling with dry taps in your area, this is most probably due to a burst pipe.

As long as rain continues to fall and there is flow in the Klip River, water shouldn’t be a problem in town, say uThukela.

However, if the Klip River dries up again, water-shedding will be implemented. People are urged to continue saving water and using this precious resource sparingly.
