Knitwits is a knitting club that meets every Thursday morning between 10am and 12pm at Wits End Resort.
They enjoy knitting warm clothing, blankets and toys, which are donated to underprivileged children.
This year, they decided to donate to Isiphephelo Place of Safety in Winterton.

On October 13, Stella Cowley (Knitwits co-ordinator) – together with two of the ladies, Shirley Bruce and Anna-Marie Kuhn – met up with Reverend John Green and visited Isiphephelo Place of Safety to hand over knitted blankets and toys.

The idea for the home is to give each child their own blanket and toy, which becomes theirs and leaves with them when they leave, either to return home or to be re-homed.

Strict Covid-19 rules were applied, and the ladies were given a short tour around the home.
There is a beautiful playground area which is kitted out with a jungle gym and toys. The house itself was immaculate and clean. The ladies left with a happy heart, knowing that their blankets and toys were knitted with love and that love will spread through to the little ones who are homed there.
Knitwits relies on donations of wool, so if anyone is able to assist, please contact Stella on 065-921-1917.
