Ladysmith KZN: #Not in My Name

'We stand firmly against gender-based violence'

A group of men from Ladysmith took a stand against Gender-based violence and had a walk called ‘The Walk of Shame’ which started at a local filling station, at Guinea Fowl.

“With the walk we wanted to show that as men we are ashamed that so many lives of women and children have been lost in the hands of men whereas we should be protecting women and children.

We stand firmly against Gender-based violence, we say ‘Not in Name’ as women are treasures and should be loved,” said Mandlakhe Ngcobo on of the organisers of the Walk of Shame walk which took place in Murchison Street and ended at the Ladysmith Town Hall.

The Walk of Shame was indeed a unique walk as men who took part in it were wearing formal suits.
