Soccer players and spectators at Princess Park had to abruptly stop the game on Saturday, as a man was shot and killed just metres away.
At about 1.30pm, witnesses say they heard gunshots ring out through the air.

Upon further investigation, it was found that a man had been shot dead at Princess Park.
Police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi confirmed that officers were called out to the scene and on arrival found a man who was bleeding profusely.
“They noticed that he was not breathing and found three cartridges next to him. He had been shot in the chin, jaw and neck. The victim is unknown and he was certified dead,” added Captain Nyathi.
Estcourt police are investigating a case of murder and would appreciate any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s. Call 08600-10111.
