VRYHEID: AbaQulusi fills critical posts

"We have high hopes and believe that these two gentlemen will play a crucial role in developing AbaQulusi and shaping it for the better" - Maphisa.

AbaQulusi Local Municipality (ALM) has filled two director posts that have been vacant for over a year.
For the past year, ALM has been operating without two key service delivery directors for Technical Services and Community Services. Acting Mayor Mncedisi Maphisa said, “It is with great pleasure that I inform the residents of AbaQulusi of a significant stride we have made towards restoring order and stability to our administration. It has been common knowledge that for the past year, the municipality has been operating without two key service delivery directors, namely the Technical Services HOD and the Community Services HOD.
“It is with great delight that I wish to inform you, as the residents of AbaQulusi, that two incumbents who have been tried and tested have been appointed into these positions by Council and they assumed duty on Monday, October 19”.

In the position of Director: Technical Services, Council appointed Nkosinathi Mbongwa; and in the Community Services position, Council appointed Thabo Xaba.
“We have high hopes and believe that these two gentlemen will play a crucial role in developing AbaQulusi and shaping it for the better. It brings absolute joy to my heart that during this tenure as well, we have managed to pay our Eskom debt and we anticipate paying it off in full by December 2020. “The debt, if you may recall, was an amount of R65 million and currently only R8 million is outstanding for us to complete the debt. I wish to assure all residents that AbaQulusi will return to its former glory and they must expect to see more achievements than failures during this term we are serving. As they have trusted us to lead this municipality as the IFP, we will continue working with pride and honesty to serve and deliver services efficiently and effectively from now, moving forward, with full force administratively; we will only talk the language of service delivery,” added Maphisa.
