Ladysmith KZN: Quick response from uThukela to fix broken fire hydrant

Many residents are furious with the district municipality for the recent spate of water problems

A faulty fire hydrant at the corner of Soldiers Way and Barrack Road saw hundreds of litres of water spraying out and going down the drain.

Many residents are furious at uThukela District Municipality for the recent spate of water problems in the town, with some people being left without water for days on end.

However, in the case of the malfunctioning fire hydrant, uThukela workers responded speedily. They first assessed the damage and then quickly carried out repairs before more water went to waste.
