VRYHEID: Popular Bhekuzulu tavern re-opens for business

Come enjoy yourself at Dumi's No:1 Tavern and remember that our motto says, 'Drink with dignity'."

One of Bhekuzulu’s popular ‘chilling’ spots, Dumi’s No:1 Tavern, re-opened its doors this past week and is ready to host you again.
The owners of the tavern had the following to say:
“Like everybody else, we also felt the pinch of the lockdown due to Covid-19, hence the delay in re-opening our doors.
“When government spoke of the relief funds, we were excited that, should we move to level 1, everything would be in order. Unfortunately, we never saw those funds. With that, we had to let go of some of our staff. It is now exciting to be back in operation again after calls from our community that they need this place.

“People come here for different reasons, of which one they highlighted was safety. We know it may not always be perfect, but we strive to ensure that our patrons are safe. We will continuously respect our community, because they are our VIP clients; we will continue to listen to their opinions and share ideas with them.
“Our clients must remember that we still maintain our rules that no alcohol will be sold to persons under 18 years of age, no alcohol will be sold to pregnant women, no weapons of any kind will be allowed, no fighting will be allowed, and no wearing of hats inside the building.
“Our resident DJ will continue to entertain you. DJ Nelo plays from Friday until Sunday every week, giving you a variety of Deep House, Afro Pop, Gqom and AmaPiano. He sure does love to see you on the dance floor and the interaction he has with you, so do come enjoy.
“We wish to grow as Dumi’s No:1 Tavern, and possibly after a couple of years grow into a franchise. Our growth will come through working together with our community, our clients and the respect we will continue to show to them.
Come enjoy yourself at Dumi’s No:1 Tavern and remember that our motto says, ‘Drink with dignity’.”
Dumisani and Nelisiwe Nxele thank you for your support as they strive to meet your demands and quench your thirst.
