Ladysmith KZN: Taxi completely destroyed in fire near Colenso
The driver managed to get off the roadway on the Newtown bridge
A taxi was destroyed after it caught alight this afternoon (October 12) near Colenso.
The taxi was fully loaded with passengers and was coming from Durban, heading towards Weenen, when the smell of burning cables entered the vehicle.
The driver managed to pull off the road on the Newtown bridge in Colenso and all the passengers got out of the taxi before it was completely engulfed in flames.

Luckily, nobody was injured in the incident.
Police and the Community Response Unit (CRU) from Colenso responded to the scene, but nothing could be done, as the vehicle had been completely gutted in the blaze.
