He said they have taken a decision to ensure that learners go to school well dressed and presentable.

“During the lockdown period, many lives were lost because of the Covid-19 pandemic; and in the process, teaching and learning activities were disrupted, as learners had to stay at home in order to be safe,” he explained.

The mayor extended his appreciation to the teachers for educating the learners and helping them become the leaders of tomorrow.

He also reminded both teachers and learners that although some of the restrictions have been lifted, the pandemic is not over yet, so they need to adhere to the lockdown rules and regulations by wearing masks all the time, washing their hands and maintaining social distancing.

The principals of these two schools said they were proud to have a mayor who cares so much about children, making sure the future of our learners is taken care of.

This truly demonstrates government’s commitment towards our schools and learners.
