NEWCASTLE: Authorities at the scene of horrific collision on the Madadeni road

Police officials say they cannot confirm the cause of the collision at this early stage.

Madadeni SAPS officials are currently responding to a collision scene on the road to Madadeni, near the H39 settlement.

News of the incident was confirmed by Captain Nkosi, Communications Officer for Madadeni SAPS, who said it was unclear what caused the collision at this early stage. Local paramedics are also at the scene.

“As soon as police officials have gathered information, more details would be communicated to the public,” promised Capt Nkosi.

Officials are at the scene.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson, Craig Botha said the service responded to the collision and found that a bus, a car and a taxi had all collided.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that six occupants sustained minor injuries. The patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further treatment,” he said.

Capt Nkosi has urged motorists to avoid the area if possible, and to drive with caution particularly in the present rainy conditions.
