SAPS made several arrests on charges of public violence

A mobile library was set on fire, stones thrown at houses and several people arrested after Sithembile erupted after the Endumeni Municipality clamped down on illegal power connections in the area.

Municipal sources said the interim library was gutted and the soccer field damaged. Earlier in in the day a firearm was pulled on electricians who were in the area on official business not related to the removal of illegal connections.
