Ladysmith KZN – uThukela District Municipality has released a statement on the preparation of the new smart metering / prepaid water meter installation.
The municipality has appointed Marothidi Metsi to conduct a water meter audit in preparation for the smart metering / prepaid water meter system that is going to be rolled out during October.
Members of the public must note that they can request identification cards from any staff member alleging to be an uThukela employee.
No cost will be involved for domestic use of the meter and its installation. The tariffs will be the same as per the unit price for water on the old meter system.
