Ladysmith: Thulani uses photography to express himself

"I still want to travel the world with my camera in hand"

Ladysmith KZN –  “A picture tells a thousand words and I tell my own stories through pictures.” These are the words of Thulani ‘Jay’ Ntini, a young man from Ladysmith who says he uses photography as a way of expressing himself.

“Growing up, I always tried to ‘fit in’ in relationships. I always tried to be ‘cool’ in order to fit in with other children, not realising that I am unique in my own way.”

Thulani is well known in Ladysmith for his former coffee shop, ‘The Art Brew’; a place where young artists and poets used to get together and express themselves through their talents while enjoying a good meal prepared by Thulani himself.

“After lots of travelling, I am back in a place I call home, doing what my heart loves dearly, which is photography. I feel I am able to tell my own story through pictures. I still want to travel the world with my camera in hand,” says this photographer with wanderlust and a never-ending need to express his own brand of creativity.
