A truck driver sustained serious injuries after being trapped in the vehicle when two heavies collided on the N3 southbound this morning (September 21).
When emergency services arrived on scene near Midway, they quickly assessed the scene and began work to free the driver.
“With the help of rescue services, paramedics stabilized the patient and worked for approximately 40 minutes to extricate the patient,” said Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha.
The man was then taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
