Ladysmith KZN – A truck crashed and burned on the N3 near Ladysmith this afternoon (September 17).
The incident took place between the Bergville Plaza and Tugela Plaza on the southbound carriageway.
The truck overturned and was carrying phenol, which is classified as a dangerous chemical.
The Ladysmith Fire Department, Okhahlamba Fire Department, police, RTI and N3TC responded to the scene.
Traffic was backed up in the southbound lane until the scene was cleared.

Firefighters battled the blaze and got the inferno under control.
The truck had to be towed away.
