Ladysmith: Fellow teacher arrested for murder of 8 months’ pregnant woman

"It is disturbing to learn that a woman is involved in the killing of another"

Ladysmith KZN – At least two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of pregnant teacher Ms Ndaba, who was an educator at a school in Loskop. Ms Ndaba was eight months pregnant when police found her badly burnt body in a vehicle riddled with bullet holes on the morning of July 23 in Emmaus near Bergville.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala described Ms Ndaba’s body as “burnt beyond recognition”.

An SAPS team followed all possible leads to crack the case and nab all the suspects involved. “The team worked tirelessly to make sure that the killers are brought to book,” said Captain Gwala.

A breakthrough in the case came on Tuesday, September 1, when police arrested a woman confirmed to be a colleague of Ms Ndaba.

“A 37-year-old woman was arrested in Estcourt and charged with murder. She has appeared in the Weenen  Magistrate’s Court and was remanded into custody. The accused in this case was a teacher at the same school as the deceased,” commented Captain Gwala.

The investigating team made further inroads into the case  when they arrested a 46-year-old man in Emmaus near Bergville on September 3.
