The hunt is on for three suspects whom police believe were involved in a murder and attempted murder in Weenen on August 20.
Police were called out to the scene of a shooting in Msobotsheni Reserve at about 8pm and when they arrived at the Madondo homestead, a bloody scene awaited them. Two males had been shot.
A 24-year-old was pronounced dead on scene, while a 30-year-old was taken to Estcourt Hospital for emergency treatment.
According to police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi, witnesses claimed that three masked suspects shot at the victims through a door, using rifles.
“Anyone who can assist the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is asked to call 08600-10111,” added Captain Nyathi.
